The Ramkrishna Nagar College Library building, which is centrally located at the college campus, built during the IXth Plan period with an extension during Xth.

     The very structure of the library building and its collection drastically changed after the allotment of funds from the UGC With the revolutionary changes that has brought up for the requirement of developing library and information centers in the educational institutions or institutions of higher learning. At present the library possess the Software for University Libraries (SOUL) from INFLIBNET, Ahmedabad, for the entire automation of the library, which is currently in process.

       The library at present has 6,000 collections approximately, which includes 3263 Reference Books, 1837 Text Books and some rare books and subjective journals. It also has special collections of about 407 books donated by many book lovers. The Library Subscribes 43 Journals and Magazines including one International.  It also subscribes various national and local newspapers for the benefit of speculative users. Data entry and automation mechanism is in rapid progress.

   The library provides various services for the users. It has circulatory services such as issues and return of books. Reference service is also provided for needy users both in demand and in anticipation. Along with the reference service some selective bibliographic services is also provided to serious readers. The library also maintains back date journals for the speculative search by needy users.

      At present the library is following the close access system but in coming years we are trying to adopt partially open access system for wide spectrum of users need. In spite of limited infrastructure we are maintaining a norm that would fulfill the basic display of the library. A display stand for journals and revolving journal is kept for the latest arrival in the library. A bulletin board is also kept inside the library for the information of latest arrival of books and other career oriented programmes. A separate Suggestion Box is kept for any complain or suggestion regarding the development of the library and its services. The library is assisted well both by the UGC and NERDP.     

      The college library being the prominent platform for the collection, processing and dissemination of universe of knowledge the Ramkrishna Nagar College is tempted to provide high standard of services to its varied users.

Process towards appointment of qualified librarian is in progress following the retirement of S.Bhattacharee, who served the college more than three decades.
